HackerRank Cut #8 problem solution

In this HackerRank Cut #8 problem solution we have Given a sentence, identify and display its first three words. Assume that the space (‘ ‘) is the only delimiter between words.

Input Format

A text file with lines of ASCII text only. Each line has exactly one sentence.

Constraints

(N is the number of lines of text in the input file)

Output Format

The output should contain N lines. For each input sentence, identify and display its first three words. Assume that the space (‘ ‘) is the only delimiter between words.

Problem solution.

#!/bin/bash
while read x
do
    echo $x | cut -d ' ' -f1-3
done
exit 0

Second solution.

cut -d' ' -f1,2,3

Third solution.

cut -d' ' -f1-3
